Andres R. Olivares
Andres R. Olivares “Andrew” born March 3, 1950 of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2023. Born in Torreon, Mexico, he grew up in Roswell, NM and graduated from Roswell High School. He enlisted in the United Stated Army where he served one tour in Vietnam. He then joined the Roswell National Guard. After Military life Andrew moved to Houston, TX where he worked in the oil Industry, Brown and Root, and retired from GENRON of Houston.
Andrew was a kind and loving dad and grandfather who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a quiet man who loved woodworking. He made Cabinets and furniture for his home and others. He also enjoyed photography, reading, and watching old sitcoms.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose, and Tomasa Olivares; brothers Fred Olivares, Juan Manuel Olivares and Ascencion Olivares; sisters San Juanita Olivares and Josephine Young.
Survived by his children; Micheal Paul (Patricia) Olivares of Houston, TX and Andres Aldaz Olivares of Laurel, MS; grandchildren Micheal Olivares Jr., Victoria Olivares, Jorge Luis Rodriguez and Tyler J. Bean of Houston, TX, Electra Hannah-Nacole Olivares, Mia Claire Olivares Thornton and Andres J. Thornton a of Laurel, MS. Brothers; Jose Olivares of Roswell, NM, Robert Olivares of Roswell, NM, Steve Olivares of Wichita, KS; sisters Alice Olivares-Chawk (Peter) of Wichita, KS, Grace Simon (Timothy) of Mt. Hope, KS and Tomacita Henseler (Scott) of Moundridge, KS along with many, many nieces, nephews, great nephews, great nieces and great-grand nephews and nieces of Arizona, Kansas, Minesota, New Mexico and Texas.
He will be truly missed by all his family and friends.
A rosary will be held at 1:30, Friday, September 29, 2023 at St. John’s Catholic Church with mass following at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at General Douglas L. McBride Cemetery.
