Adeline Chavarria

Adeline (Della) Chavarria 68, of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 8, 1957, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Mercedes A. Artiaga and Ben P. Artiaga. Both of her parents have preceded her in death along with a stepfather, Martin Tarango, and grandson Ray Anthony Artiaga, as well as numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.

 Adeline's memory will be cherished and kept alive by her surviving family. Her children Albert (Tito) Artiaga and spouse Liz, Maria Torres and partner Alonzo, Enrique Chavarria Jr. and spouse Priscilla, Jose Chavarria and spouse Laurie, Rosie Chavarria and partner Jacob.

 Her precious grandchildren: Albert Artiaga Jr., Destiny Artiaga, Ethan Chavarria, Jose (Boogie) Rivera, Sophia Chavarria, Mercedes Dominguez, Azariah Torres, Azmariah (Karma) Torres, Crystal Avalos, Maxine De La Torre, Alexis Alonzo.

 Her precious great-grandchildren: Joseph (Ace) Martinez, Josiah Merrifield, Samuel Johnson, Shane Avalos, Princess Avalos, Nevaeh Tarin, Damian Tarin, Isliana De La Torre, Serenity Clooky, Ethan Clooky, La La Lara and Emm Rose Guzman. She is survived by numerous cousins and dear friends, including, sister Roberta (Babas) Wyatt, niece Alexias Torres, nephew Alex N. Torres, III. Very special Uncle and Aunt, Alfonzo (Poncho) Tarango and Margie Rocha.

Adeline was a very giving person with a big heart. If anyone needed help, she was always there to lend a hand. She never turned anyone away who needed something. She loved her kids and grandkids with all her heart and spent all of her time with them. She will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her.

 A viewing will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Ballard Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 5, 2026. A Memorial Service to honor Adeline's life will be held at Ballard Funeral Chapel on February 6, 2026, at 2:00 pm, burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

 Honorary Pallbearers will be Ernest Archuleta, Enrique Chavarria Jr., Jose Chavarria, Albert Artiaga Jr., Destiny Artiaga, Anthony Archuleta, Ethan Chavarria, Tino Archuleta, Josiah Merrifield, Joseph Ace Martinez and Alex N. Torres, III.

 We will have a dinner to celebrate Adeline's life at Serenity Club, at 1000 E. Bland St., from 4:30 to 7:00 pm. Please join us to share stories and memories of her.
