Adam Jimmy "AJ" Lara

February 12, 1979 — February 24, 2026

Adam Jimmy (AJ) Lara, a devoted husband father, and friend, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Albuquerque, at the age of 47. Born on February 12, 1979, in Roswell, NM. AJ was rich with laughter, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family.

A self-enthusiast, Adam found joy in working on cars, landscaping and fixing things to make them work. His hands were often busy, reflecting both his dedication to craft his desire to bring beauty and functionality the world around him. Whether in workshop or working in the outdoors, his passion for construction and landscaping shone through. However, it was not just in his work where he found fulfillment; he was equally enamored with music and spent countless hours engaged in lively conversations and laughter with his children.

Adam's greatest pride lay in his family. He cherished moments spent with his wife, Alondra, and their many children: sons, Adam (AJ) Lara I, Adam Jimmy Lara II, Benjamin Lara, Nathaniel Ramirez, Orlando Ramirez, daughters, Dannica Danielle Martinez, Sincerity Sincere Lara, Divinity Divine Lara, Diversity Denae Munson, and Dashana Apodaca. He also is leaving behind five grandchildren.  AJ was not only their father, but also their confidant and friend, there to talk about everything, from trivial to the profound. Together, created countless memories filled with joy, as he loved playing Xbox games, cruising, and sharing jokes that made everyone laugh.

The bonds he formed beyond his immediate family. Adam was also deeply tied to his mother, Carmen Castillo, and his siblings: brother Cleo Jimmy, sister Inez Bustamante, and sister Irene Hernandez, as well as his best friend Marciano Madrid. Adam loved his dog "Lil Dog" and will be missed by his four-legged friend. The love he held for each of them was testament to the family man he was—someone who would do anything to show love and support.

Though he is survived by his adoring wife and children, AJ is preceded in death by his father, Jim Lara, and father-in-law, Benjamin D Martinez. The legacy he leaves is one of love, laughter, and the deep connections forged in his life. He will be remembered for his hearty laughter, his incredible spirit, and the light he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
