Marie Apodaca De La Rosa

On December 9, 2019 Marie Apodaca De La Rosa went to be with the Lord, surrounded by family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Ballard Funeral Home on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 1pm. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Marie was born July 15, 1945 to Felipe and Annie Apodaca in Carrizozo, New Mexico. After moving to Roswell, Marie attended Washington Ave, North Junior High and Roswell High.

Marie worked as a nurse’s aide at Saint Mary’s Hospital. This inspired her to get into the medical field. Many years later she received her degree as a physical therapist. She worked and retired from Presbyterian Health South in Albuquerque.

Marie married Joe Gamboa, but later divorced. They had two sons, Joseph Gamboa and Armando Gamboa (deceased).

Years later she married Ezekiel De La Rosa. They had one son, Jaime.

Hobbies: Listening to Oldies and Country Music (Elvis), Shopping, Sewing, Cooking/Baking and made the best Pancakes. Marie enjoyed her daily rides with her husband Ezekiel, crossword puzzles, watching HGTV and Trivia games, Spending time with her siblings, primas, primos, and friends (AKA The Golden Girls).

Those left to carry on her memory are her husband Ezekiel De La Rosa and sons, Joseph and Jaime; brothers Felipe, Raymundo, Chris, Ramon Apodaca and Steve Silva and sisters Eva Cobos, Frieda Apodaca and Lorina Lara.

Preceding in death are parents Felipe and Annie; brothers Nick, Edwardo and Joe; sister Aurelia Silva, paternal and maternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, and nephews.
