Marcello V. Silva Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather Funeral services are scheduled on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 11:00am at the Highland Baptist Church, 2001 S. Lea, for Marcello V. Silva, 66, who passed away February 27, 2010, in Thornton, Colorado. Pastor Adam Soliz will officiate with interment to follow in South Park Cemetery. Marcello was the fourth child of thirteen children born to Gomesindo A. Silva, Sr. and Elizabeth V. Silva. Marcello was born, on February 23, 1944, in Tornillo, TX, His parents preceded him in death. Marcello was married to Zandra Jaramillo , on December 16, 1993, in Denver, Colorado. Shortly after his birth his family moved to the Roswell area. His brothers and sisters called him the jokester of the family. Marcello was an “extra ordinary” chef by trade. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved being with his family. On his visits to Roswell, he loved sharing his time with family and friends. Marcello had a “Heart of Gold”. He is survived by his wife Zandra, of the home. He is also survived by his first wife, Estrella Lucero Silva, and their children and grandchildren and one great grandchild due in July. Their children and grandchildren are Angel (Valarde) Gonzales, Elizabeth Silva, Melissa (Bruce Collier) Silva, and Marcello (Melinda) Silva, Jr.; grandchildren, Valarde, Jr., Savannah, Gabriel, Nicholas Gonzales, Anthony Ramirez, Alisia, Angelo, Angelica, Alejandro, Ariana, Alania Silva, Latanya, Estrella and Kyla Silva. He is also survived by the following; sons, Marcello Jimenez and Marcello Ortega; step-son Larrio Gonzales, step-daughter Jozann (Marty) Martin and their children: Chad, Joshua, Celestina, Alyah Gonzales, Salina and Rachel Martin. His surviving brothers and sisters and their spouses are: Steve (Flora) Silva, Chindo (Patsy) Silva, Albert (Mary) Silva, Eppie Silva, Fernando (Sheila) Silva, Jesse (Debbie) Silva, James Silva, Nieves Ramey, Adella (Griff) Griffith, Faye Silva, Maggie Garrison and Linda Alywin; numerous nieces and nephews; one uncle, Albert Acosta Silva, and very special aunt, Virginia Silva. Pallbearers will be: Valarde Gonzales, Jr., Oscar Silva, Jesse S. Silva, Anthony Silva, Sr., James Allen Silva and Albert Silva, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be his remaining grandchildren and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:30 at the Ballard Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory.
